It’s been a month since I took a trip to Cuba with my family and for all this time, I haven’t had the opportunity to write about the excursion. We (being my sister and me) started with Havana, the central head of Cuba, with a population of more than 11 million individuals. It’s also the place which accommodates our family.
To enjoy the experience of this country (or any country, really), one must live like the people who live in the city. As of transportation, instead of renting a car, we traveled by bus. Every day we see things, we don’t usually encounter, have the leisure to talk to new people (only if you speak Spanish), and crazy things just happen. It was exhilarating. It was amazing. It was indescribable.
In Havana Vieja (Old Havana) is the place where there are many vendors and stores with marvelous things to offer. They have books, jewelry, clothes, etc. And the hotels are exquisite to admire. Many of the buildings’ architecture is inspired by the ancient Roman-Greco period. Especially the Capitol building. But one prime-time example is the Gran Hotel Manzana (The Grand Apple Hotel).
After a week in Havana, the entire family traveled to Varadero. The city of the celebration of life. It is composed of amazing beaches and heart-stopping clubs. The beaches are mostly found in man-made paths. It was like discovering a hidden wonder.
Holy Grail of the trip:
